st. george marathon 2010

Well, another year down at the St. George Marathon.  This year was a close call!  CJ has a problem with his foot called....um.....planterflash...?  Maybe I don't know the exact name or how to spell it, but he says it hurts like a mother and feels like the tendon under his arch is going to snap at any second!  OUCH!  So, he (we) thought he was going to have to drop out of the race.  It wasn't until 1 hour before we were supposed to leave that he decided that he'd give the race a try.  So off we went to the steaming hot city of St. George.  CJ started that race feeling pretty good and went forward with pain from time to time but still finished the marathon in 4 hours and 7 minutes.  He said he realized he would have to walk a little at around mile 16 or 17 when his foot tightened up...so he did.  But then he started running again and didn't walk until the last mile of the race.  However, at that point there were some army guys voluteering their help to those finishing the race and they made CJ run.  This didn't make CJ very happy...not because he didn't appreciate the help...he just HATES the attention :]  hehehehehehe!  Oh well, he did it and then it was over and we were all thrilled!
Luckily today is General Conference and he has the chance to sit instead of run around the church doing his YM President duties!  Fewf...he can sit in peace and hopefully lose some of the aches and pains before starting a new week tomorrow :]
