What do you do on a saturday morning? We catch baby cows! We found this cow up in the hills behind Bluffdale a couple days ago. Cows had been grazing up there the week before. When they were drivin off the hills a baby cow was left behind. We saw him running around last night without a mom. We knew right away he was lost and obviously was left behind. Thinking his mom had died we were worried about him surviving. We tried to catch him, but he ran down into the gully and we just couldn't find him after that. We left thinking he was too young to make it to much longer. Well, we drove up there this morning just to take one last look...and after 3 hours of looking decided we might as well leave. Just before exiting the property Caitlyn asked if we could just take a second to check down one last road we hadn't been down yet. And, good thing we did because there he was! After a gut busting chase back up into the hills CJ and Cait cornered him and CJ roped him. Not knowing what in the heck to do with him...we brought him home. The girls named him Ferdinand and bottle feed him :] Sadly, we found it's owner and we had to let him go. But, his mom was very much alive and going crazy trying to find him. It all turned out just fine, except for a couple tears shed by my big hearted girls! We saved a cow today...we feel SO happy about that!
Yep, no trailer & no truck...we just put him in the back of the jeep and hauled him home :]
