U2 concert - May 2011

Sadie, Cait, Liz Gainer and I braved the crowds at Rice Eccles Statium to watch and listen to Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry play their music under a MASSIVE CRAB CLAW!  Well, it looked like a crab claw anyway???  Who knows what it was really supposed to be?  Whatever it was, we knew this...IT WAS SO FREAKIN' COOL!  This show was one that will be hard to beat!  Even if you didn't really know U2, it's ok...because the show itself was spectacular and completely enjoyed by all :]
The second song they played, "I Will Follow", is one of my favorte U2 songs.  Sadie about died when I told her that song was close to 30 years old!  Talk about a band with staying power!  We listen to U2 songs when we go boating, always have & always will.  So the girls were please to hear our 'boating songs' which they said reminded them of when they were little.
The energy was intense!  It's amazing, because those boys are all in their mid to late 50's now.  Crazy how some people can keep it cool even after so many years :]
Me (looking all of my 40 years) Sadie (looking super youthful)
There's "The Claw!"
This was my favorite stage configuration!
another cool stage change
This 'Big Thing' moved up and down the whole concert.  It was absolutly massive...don't know how they made it all look so smooth and awesome?
There were ginormous disco balls at the top of the spike and at the bottom.  Breathtaking!
Colorful, Sparkly, Huge, Bright, Futuristic, Amazing....U2
