Cali 1/2 Ironman

My fantastic Christopher John completed the Cali 1/2 ironman in 5 hours and 31 minutes....his BEST TIME YET for a 1/2!  It started out a little rough because his swim was a little slower than normal, but he recovered and pulled through the bike (battling crazy crosswinds) and then ran the best 13 miles he has ever run in a race, it was a great race day for him :]
(I would love to mention that our friend Craig Ward's race time was 4:38 & that he finished 16th in the most competitive age group, only minutes after the pro's...but he would kill me for mentioning that...so I won't)
CJ and Craig ready for a 6:56 am swim start!  Both looking to get their best times yet....check!
(they are in the middle - cj in blue suit with goggles on is cap and craig is the tall guy checking his watch)
Picture from the pier in oceanside.  Who wouldn't want to be there...it was 72 degrees :]
I am my hub's biggest fan.  I love watching him race.  Not many people run an ironman race...full 140 distance or half 70.3 distance.  It's challenging and takes a toll on your body, but these athletes are the BOMB and the training is super intense.  The atmosphere is hyped and possitive...it's just a fantastic experience all around!  I'm just so proud of my CJ and all my friends who take these races on! :]
