Yesterday, as I was pinterest-ing, I came across a quote by Gordon B. Hinkley.  He is one of my most favorite prophets of this time.  He had a very unique way of genuinely sending his love right into the depths of your soul with his sweet words.  Every word is so heartfelt.....

This quote smacked me right in the face because I am a women who has struggled with my "lack of" perfection.  I have struggled with this since I was about 8 years old.  It's crazy that we (especially women) think all would be so much better if we could just accomplish more....like losing even more weight, wearing more fashionable clothing, running a marathon, being a better cook...and so on!  In reality, all our Father in Heaven desires of us is to rise to our potential, do what is best for our body, mind and spirit.  Which means we should not be looking at others as our guide to "perfection", we should only be looking within.  I have met people who are a great example to follow in this journey I call my life....I have also found myself trying to live up to the beauty and lifestyle of some who are not examples of greatness even though they sure seem to be!  Life is a crazy battle, it's hard.  But I hope I will read this quote by one of my most favorite men as often as possible...then follow his words and move forward :]
